A Cake-tile birthday wish for MJM so for real everyone giving him cakes. Virtual cake is counted, I say. Keeping the birthday boy from cake overdose.

Birthday Card for a Super Cool Dude!
Distraction from projects, or good distraction cos I had fun. Although I obviously had no idea what I was doing here! A birthday card for a very good friend of mine but I don't think I captured him well :/
One of the top coolest dudes I've ever known, full of energy and very inspiring!! Always great hanging out times and he taught me to do tubing at the river last Summer. He would share me his most honest thoughts to motivate me to make good work, and things to look at, including the animation in this animation show by Gainax. I tried to draw him in that show anime style but I didn't succeed to completely get out of my comfort zone. Anyway, this drawing is also to cheering him to finish his personal animation short on top of his longgg hours and days of profesional work.

A Gift from Yinglei Yang
The best roommate ever (or ex-roommate now since we've split), also a really good friend, and super nice girl, as well as awesomely talented and super smart classmate (she solved so many Rubiks cubes when she's on the phone with her parents!! and learned all VFX stuff in no time), Yinglei Yang, gave me a special gift. She made a paper sculpture for me and it's framed too!! I was speechless and couldn't open it at her presence as it was nicely wrapped and I knew my tears would roll down my cheeks.
There's so much love in this world! I never thought someone would ever make a paper sculpture just for me...
A couple months prior Yinglei gave this to me, I received an unexpected package right in front of my door from my beloved awesome sister and bestest friend, Arianni, and it was an action figure of me! I was completely speechless and ready to cry as I opened the package very carefully.
You can see more pictures of it on her blog post here.
Thank you so so much, Yinglei and Anni!!

One Drop Comic Project
My friend and great artist Mary J. Lai invited me to join her comic anthology, One Drop Comic project and it got funded!! Here's a panel from my comic contribution that I finished a few weeks ago.
I'm excited to see the book when it's done and out as I haven't seen anyone's comics yet, except my talented super awesome sister's. Thank you so much, Mary, for all your hard work and effort putting this all together!

Happy Birthday Dude
A birthday card for a very good friend! Crayola crayons on Bristol paper.
I actually don't know much about most of his life prior I knew of his existence, so I hope no one gets offended or anything here.

Thank You - Telluride Film Fest 2012 Trip!
I was selected as one of ten UCLA FilmLAB Fellows for this year's Telluride Film Festival!
It was an extraordinary, one of a kind experience, and I can't express well how much grateful I was to be there, getting to know and hanging out with other UCLA grad students that only two of them I knew of their existence before the orientation meeting, the faculty advisers also everyone I met there and grabbed drinks with :), and of course all the films and wish I got to see more films!
Telluride is such a gorgeous little town among the mountains of Colorado, and even though I got extremely exhausted after the trip, it definitely was my vacation of this year! and the new place I got to see of this year :)
Now I've been back being with computer inside buildings :(
Huge Thanks to everyone who made the trip possible and being part of the terrific Labor day weekend!

"The Wind" by Zac Brown Band
I did some animation on this new single from Zac Brown Band, "The Wind" at Titmouse. Directed by Mike Judge, the project was super fun to animate on that we all put a lot of love into it, and I learned so much from the awesomely talented animation director Grif Kimmins, and everyone else in the team.

Thank You - UCLA Festival of Animation
It's been crazy packed busy with school year wrapping up, full time work, other projects & freelance, also finally our Animation showcase wrapped up too last June 9th. It was an interesting year, learned so much how to organize an event which was a Screening and the Reception. My favorite part was decorating obviously; especially with our theme this year, Monster Mash Party!
My organizer partner, Saeko, and I are very grateful for all the support, generous help, guidance and love from everyone in the program, faculty & staff, UCLA Film Festival committee and directors' reps for including animation in their events.

Roommates & Cats
My friend & classmate Rebecca told me this story, sometime last year. Rebecca is very pretty so obviously I didn't draw her well. But Rebecca is also very cool so I'm sure she won't mind my drawing. heheh. And I have no idea how Rose & her cats look like.

From the Artists at Bento Box :)
Huge thanks to everyone for the awesome drawings!! Now I can sell these on eBay.. jk. NEVER will.
We were drawing on napkins over lunch one day.. Perry just unstoppably kept drawing perfectly. I loved this drawing by him so I kept it with me!
Dave drew me haha. He drew it with his left hand too but he's right handed :O
Really cool send-off drawing from Devin!
Another drawing by Perry, this time in my sketchbook :)
It's a Mickey Belcher! :D by Wes Archer!!
Burger Spirit and Free Burgers! by Phil Hayes and Wes :)
I was working on the show Bob's Burgers with those great artists above and learning so much from them. The show is about Bob Belcher and his family running a burger restaurant. It's aired on Fox so you should check it out!
