Thank You 181B Fall 2012 class

I was TAing the Writing for Animation (Storyboarding) class this Fall quarter. Since the class is already over, I made this thank you card to all the super talented great students, for having me as their TA and being inspiring!
The class had a really combination of talents from different background that brought great dynamic to the class, and everyone did such great job in presenting their great stories! I was awed by how well they presented all of their boards and I totally didn't do any good when I had to take the class couple years ago.
I'm looking forward to see more awesome things they're gonna create in the very near future!

A Gift from Yinglei Yang

The best roommate ever (or ex-roommate now since we've split), also a really good friend, and super nice girl, as well as awesomely talented and super smart classmate (she solved so many Rubiks cubes when she's on the phone with her parents!! and learned all VFX stuff in no time), Yinglei Yang, gave me a special gift. She made a paper sculpture for me and it's framed too!! I was speechless and couldn't open it at her presence as it was nicely wrapped and I knew my tears would roll down my cheeks.

There's so much love in this world! I never thought someone would ever make a paper sculpture just for me...
A couple months prior Yinglei gave this to me, I received an unexpected package right in front of my door from my beloved awesome sister and bestest friend, Arianni, and it was an action figure of me! I was completely speechless and ready to cry as I opened the package very carefully.

You can see more pictures of it on her blog post here.

Thank you so so much, Yinglei and Anni!!

Thank You - Telluride Film Fest 2012 Trip!

I was selected as one of ten UCLA FilmLAB Fellows for this year's Telluride Film Festival
It was an extraordinary, one of a kind experience, and I can't express well how much grateful I was to be there, getting to know and hanging out with other UCLA grad students that only two of them I knew of their existence before the orientation meeting, the faculty advisers also everyone I met there and grabbed drinks with :), and of course all the films and wish I got to see more films!
Telluride is such a gorgeous little town among the mountains of Colorado, and even though I got extremely exhausted after the trip, it definitely was my vacation of this year! and the new place I got to see of this year :)
Now I've been back being with computer inside buildings :(

Huge Thanks to everyone who made the trip possible and being part of the terrific Labor day weekend!

Thank You - UCLA Festival of Animation

It's been crazy packed busy with school year wrapping up, full time work, other projects & freelance, also finally our Animation showcase wrapped up too last June 9th. It was an interesting year, learned so much how to organize an event which was a Screening and the Reception. My favorite part was decorating obviously; especially with our theme this year, Monster Mash Party!
My organizer partner, Saeko, and I are very grateful for all the support, generous help, guidance and love from everyone in the program, faculty & staff, UCLA Film Festival committee and directors' reps for including animation in their events.
